The Baltic Bircher crokinole board is the style of board that many Canadians grew up playing on and making lots of great memories while doing so. It is large and accomodating for 2-4 players. The octagon shape is very traditional to Canada and the cherry rails on this board are aesthetically appealing.

This particular board was designed by a craftsman named Tom who produced many of the boards for Crokinole Canada. Tom was so busy making these boards that he had to ask Crokinole Canada to find a larger maker who would be able to handle the volume. From there, Crokinole Canada worked with Woodland Horizon to make further refinements such as the cherry rail, UV printed lines, and latex covered brass posts. Since then, the board has moved to yet another maker where the birch surface was replaced with a smoother and higher quality maple mdf surface. The base is still made of birch.

The Baltic Bircher meets all the needs for a family that doesn't need a tournament level board yet wants something large and beautiful that will last for generations to come.

Description:

  • Large traditional size crokinole board with a 25.5" playing surface with an overall diameter of 30-3/8 inches
  • The birch ditch is 1-5/8", with a 3/8" deck height to the maple playing surface
  • Lines are thin, crisp and professional
  • Several coats of varathane applied to the surface
  • Frames are made of cherry wood
  • The playing surface is very smooth for fast gameplay
  • Posts are high-quality brass screws covered in latex
  • Compatible with wall hangers

Required with the board (select discs above):

  • 26 large crokinole discs (24 needed for the game, plus 1 extra of each colour)
  • Your choice of disc colours: black, natural, white, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, pink, light blue, lime green, and walnut stain
  • Please note: The discs are flat on both sides which is tournament standard.

Included with the board:

  • 100 grams of Crokinole board powder for faster play (put a small amount in the ditch and rub the disc on it before shooting or sprinkle a small amount on the playing surface)

Please Note:
This board's wood playing surface sometimes is patched, meaning there is an oval patch in the wood. This is common with any kind of plywood and does not affect the gameplay at all. It affects the appearance only slightly and is only noticeable upon closer inspection. So if you are concerned about the appearance please add a note at checkout stating you'd like a board without patched wood. Thanks!

The Baltic Bircher and Padded Carrying Case - Love It!! 💕

This Crokinole board is awesome, plus we love the carrying case for transporting and storing the board. We were very impressed with the quality of the craftsmanship and the timeliness of its arrival. We immediately played the first day it arrived and had so much fun. This is our new favorite game and will be brought to all future family functions!

We have tried playing with the lower end version of this board…but wow, there is no comparison to the Baltic Bircher! You guys knocked it out of the park with its solid construction and so well built…we've already had so many hours of fun! Thank-you for the great Crokinole board!

An instant hit to brings kids and adults together

I'm really impressed with the quality of the Baltic Bircher — the craftsmanship and heft make this an heirloom to pass on. It's definitely several steps up from the mass-produced plywood board I learned on (think it came from Sears). The surface is smooth, and the bumpers are thick and give great playing action. Totally satisfying to play on.
I've had the board 3 days and played with my teenage daughter and nephews, and also took it to a game night for adults (glad I got the padded case, this hefty board takes up my entire trunk). In both cases we did 4-player games and it was the first time any of them played — the party got loud and fun! We have several new U.S. Crokinole addicts.

Baltic Bircher - great buy

Ordering was easy online. Delivery was faster than I thought it would be and it arrived in great condition. I bought this for my son who grew up playing crokinole. It was time for him to have his own. He loves it. So does his wife who had never played before. It is a beautiful looking board. My son's first comment on opening it was "Oh, a fancy one". He has also mentioned that he likes the bumpers better than the ones on our older game. All in all, this was a great purchase.
